Lucy + Obama
Lucy watched the inauguration with me on the TV. She listened to a lot of his speech and laughed during the swearing in. Let's hope this new president helps make the America a better place for her to grow up in.

museum of science!
today was Lucy's first time to the Museum of Science. it was one of the best days in a while. We met up with Lynn and her boys Owen and Ryan. Lucy's best friend Elinor showed up with her mommy as well.

Lucy by far enjoyed the fossils and skeletons the most of all. Is it in her blood? will she be a geologist?
She also was very intrigued by the taxidermy deer. they caught her eye and she was mesmerized for a while.
She did not like the funny bubble mirrors but did like the wall of mirrors here. Maybe it was Ryan protecting her from the scaryness of them?
She and Elinor also liked the abacus. I wish the photo wasn't so grainy here. I really had a hard time with the flash in the whole museum. the lighting wasn't set up for no flash, but the exhibits got pretty lost with it.
Meanwhile I am on week 3 of being sick and on a new round of meds. Hope it clears up soon.

I kazoo, do you kazoo?
Lucy has been playing the kazoo all week. she loves it, and so far so do we. Yesterday she was playing along with the Kinks and dancing too. it was a riot! I am still trying to figure out how to make videos to post up here otherwise I would do that here. so instead I'll do a few cute picks of her with her shopping cart. she picks up toys and moves them to the other side of the room.

playdate fun!
Julie started loosing her mind after Simone left, what does a new mom do? Play dates and mom groups. It was hard to find cool moms but she ended up being lucky and has formed some good mini groups. One met yesterday. this is Lucy's buddy Elinor (and Lucy) trying to get past the new baby gate barriers

and this is Alexander, Lucy, and Elinor having a meeting of their own at the 'conference table' perhaps they were discussing all the painful teething they are all going through, or how they could keep their mama's up at night.
there is no picture to show the destruction of todays playdate. the girls that came over were 6 months older and they tore the place apart. it's ok because they are awesome girls and their mom's are very cool for Julie to talk with as well.
